What we don't do (and why)

We don't build a browser extension.

Browser extensions need permission to "read and change all data on every site you visit." The 2024 Honey controversy showed why that matters: PayPal-owned Honey was caught not always showing the best coupon and replacing creator affiliate tags with its own at checkout. We chose a website-only design so you can verify exactly what we do with your data: read xbbuy.net, that's it.

We don't run sponsored placements.

Google Shopping and Amazon's own search heavily weight sponsored slots, so the "top result" is often a paid one. Our ranking is TOPSIS multi-criteria (review trust, price, delivery, discount) with a quality-tier penalty for products lacking real reviews. A sponsored product is not in our taxonomy.

We don't claim to cover every retailer.

We compare Amazon and Walmart only. Together they cover roughly 80% of the US online retail volume, and the data signal is strong (verified reviews, accurate price feeds). Adding more retailers means weaker signal and more sponsored noise. We will expand to Target and Best Buy when we can preserve the quality bar.

Affiliate disclosure (the honest version)

When you click an Amazon link from xbbuy and complete a purchase, we earn an Amazon Associates commission (~1-4% of the sale, paid by Amazon, not by you). Walmart links are wrapped through the Walmart Creator Program (also commission-paid by Walmart, not by you) once we are approved. The ranking algorithm does not consider affiliate rates. The one limitation we want you to know

We don't have a browser extension that pops up when you're already on Amazon. If you research products on retailer sites first and only check prices at the end, Honey or Capital One Shopping will be there at checkout in a way we won't. Our bet is that you'd rather start with the comparison.
